Abstract
Structural geology has been developing at a moderately rapid pace in recent years. The 26 papers of this book cover a wide spectrum of structural geology, from the grain scale to the scale of orogenic belts, from brittle to the ductile field, from shallow-level structures to deep crustal structures. The book is divided in five broad sections: Part One, Fractures, faults and nappes; Part Two, Ductile shear zones; Part Three, Fabric; Part Four, Folds and superposed folds; Part Five, Basement structures. There is a certain amount of overlapping of these topics, especially where a tectonic synthesis of a large orogenic unit has been made.
