Abstract
In this chapter we show how one can treat temporal logics of periods in the style of two-dimensional modal logic, looking at intervals as points in a plane. In this section we first give a general introduction to period-based temporal logics, and then proceed with a more technical part motivating the treatment of interval logic as two-dimensional modal logic.
