Abstract

In 1988 Mark A. Brown published a paper [1] in which he proposed a kind of generalized modal logic intended to model certain concepts central to the logic of action, notably that of ability. The following year saw the publication of a paper [5] by the present author in which he tried to extend dynamic logic to somewhat similar purposes. It is not surprising that there should be a close relationship between the modellings in the two papers. The analysis given in this paper throws some light on that relationship.
