Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to generate a preliminary discussion of the possibilities of supplying the Aral Sea basin with water from outside regions via longrange water transfers. One such alternative may be a water transfer from the Caspian Sea basin. A few different variants of this transfer have been proposed, but we are not going to discuss them in detail. Instead, we discuss the possibility of such project in principle.
