Interaction effects in Fine Particle Systems

  • Chapter
Magnetic Hysteresis in Novel Magnetic Materials

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 338))

Abstract

Theoretical models of the Magnetic properties of fine particle systems are considered, with emphasis on the effects of magnetic interactions both dipolar and exchange. In particular the effects of the physical and magnetic microstructure are described. The physical microstructure is shown to be an important factor in determining the interaction effects. A number of models of the microstructure of particulate systems are presented and their relation to the hysteresis behaviour of the system is described.
