Abstract
Portugal has a long tradition of wine production, this culture representing an important agricultural sector. Due to long term use of copper fungicides in vineyards, high concentrations of copper are reported in agricultural soils of several Portuguese wine regions, some of them having a significant proportion of old vineyards.
