Abstract
This book provides an overview of the results from the 3,033 completed observation forms on the voting process, 544 forms on the closing and opening of the polling stations and 129 forms on the vote count of the municipal elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, held on 13–14 September 1997. A total of 363 international observers gathered this information. They stayed on average almost half an hour inside a polling station to observe the voting process and covered 1,865 different polling stations inside BiH and 138 out-of-country stations in Croatia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which equals 87.5% of all polling stations established. However, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and some cantons within the Federation (e.g. Sarajevo) are clearly over-represented, whereas Republika Srpska is under-represented. After the closing of the second polling day, the vote count started. Observers went to 129 polling stations to observe the vote count, which equals 5.6 percent of all stations established.
