Abstract

Although it has been established long ago that some gymnosperms synthesize chlorophyll in the dark, there is only a few data on specific regulation pattern of this process: Bogdanovic (1973) for Pinus nigra, Michael-Wolvertz (1977) for Pinus jeffreyi, Krol (1978) and Kasemir et al. (1980) for Pinus sylvestris, Mariani et al. (1990) for Picea abies and Larix decidua, Ou and Adamson (1995) for Pinus Pinea. Our previous studies showed that the greening of black pine (Pinus nigra Arn.) cotyledons in the dark necessary required a contact with megagametophyte or exogenous cytokinin (Jeli6 and Bogdanovic 1988).
