Abstract
The solar extreme ultraviolet (EUV) spectrum, in the range 150–1200 Å, contains numerous emission lines whose intensities and profiles give us much valuable information for probing the upper chromosphere, transition region, and corona. The emissivities of these lines cover the temperature range 104 K to more than 106 K. Temperatures, densities, element abundances, flows, and turbulent velocities form the information that can be derived from analysis of line intensities and profiles.
