Abstract
This paper discusses the properties of regional navigation constellations whether they are mainly based on geostationary orbits or on inclined geosynchronous orbit.
Basis of the evaluation of a navigation constellation performance are first recalled, then properties of constellation based on GEO satellite together with a 3 planes loop of IGSO is analyzed and finally comparison with constellation relying mainly on IGSO is made.
In addition somes considerations about the natural evolution of IGSO orbits are presented.
