Abstract
The spathe of Zantedeschia aethiopica (L.) Spreng. (Araceae) undergoes a senescence process soon after its formation, leading to the death if fructification doesn’t occur [1]. During fructification, spathe regreening occurs being a consequence of a senescence-inhibition process. It was suggested that spathe senescence inhibition and regreening at time of fructification is due to the action of cytokinins produced by fruits and translocated to the spathe [2–4].
