Abstract
Since 1987, a coniferous forest in Bavaria has continuously been monitored for radiocesium. About 300 soil samples and about 400 samples of different fungal species were analyzed for 134Cs and 137Cs. Based on this extensive data set a radioecological model for the long-term prediction of radiocesium contamination of mushrooms has been developed. The present paper summarizes some essential results of the work of the last decade. Details are published elsewhere [1–4].
