Summary
While it is easier to search databases, the access to original documents remains a problem for both end-users and information professionnals. The results (ordering and delivery methods, non-reception reasons, costs, delays) of a survey of document delivery services in Europe and North America, several thousands of document request with more than 20% in biomedical field, are presented. Some astonishing facts are highlighted, such as the length of delay or the prevailing use of mail.
