Abstract
The conservation of cultural heritage is one of the most important problems in our polluted environment. The new modem technology especially on computers are developing faster then ever. Interdisciplinary task of large scale computation in air pollution needs to be solved with combined efforts from specialists who are informed from several different fields.
To make clear the reflection of air pollution on historic buildings and difficulties on their restoration works and explanation of some faulty restorations are the main subject of this paper.
Air pollution, consisting of chemical and mechanical compositions, causes deterioration especially on stone materials which are mostly used on the facade of historic buildings. Effects caused by compounds of S, C, N will be reported.
