Abstract
The cyclic peptides cyclo(L-Asp-L-Asp) and cyclo(L-Glu-L-Glu) are both examples of di-amino acid molecules (Fig. 1) that contain cis peptide groups. The corresponding linear dipeptides, which contain the trans peptide group have been investigated previously [1] as have a series of cyclic dipeptides[2, 3].The work reported herein is part of a long-term programme to investigate the relationship between vibrational spectroscopic characteristics and molecular structure of cyclic and linear peptides.
