Cancer of the Gallbladder

Abstract

The gallbladder is located at the inferior surface of the liver, just outside the quadrate lobe and lies in the depression in the liver, called the fossa felea. The peritoneum which clothes the liver at his inferior surface is somewhat elevated to envelop also the gallbladder, pressing her against the liver. The form of the bladder is peer-like. Its largest extremity is oriented downward and anteriorly up to the anterior border of the liver. The length of the gallbladder is about 8 to 11 cm and it can contain up to 60 ml of bile.
