Abstract
These are exciting times. Rapidly changing economic conditions and technological innovation have revolutionized the financial markets. In the past decade the stock market has more than tripled in value, real estate has gone through boom and bust cycles, and commodity prices are adjusting rapidly to changing fundamentals. We have also seen new markets emerge worldwide for all kinds of financial investments. Capital has become more mobile; and new products and instruments have opened new vistas for money managers, providing them with more choices and greater flexibility than ever before.
