Abstract

We are all aware of the fact that in mammalian organisms the first reaction which occurs when a foreign surface is introduced into the body is protein adsorption. Besides determining whether a thrombogenic or non-thrombogenic reaction will occur, this protein on the surface is also decisive for another very important reaction, namely, whether bacteria will adsorb to the surface or not, endangering the organism e.g. by a recurrent bacterial dissemination.
