Foam Stability in Non-Aqueous Multi-Phase Systems

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 324))

Abstract

Foam stability in non-aqueous systems is a different phenomenon from that of aqueous foams, because no solid monomolecular film of surfactant is found and the surface free energy stabilization is not present.

Foams with excellent stability are obtained if the condensed part contains a rigid phase in addition to the liquid one. Examples of such foams are presented.
