Abstract

By means of multi-dimensional radiative transfer calculations in inhomogeneous configurations representative of the solar chromosphere we investigate how the radiative energy losses in the K line of Ca II deviate from the plane-parallel case as the horizontal structural length of the assumed inhomogeneous scenario diminishes.
