Abstract

The article ’Das Raumproblem in der neuen Quantenmechanik’ by Hans Reichenbach was never published, and therefore one needs some justification for printing it in this issue of Erkenntnis. The author might have had reasons for retaining it from publication.

I am indebted to Dr. George Berger for checking my English in this paper, and to the Hillman Library at the University of Pittsburgh for some copies of papers from the Reichenbach Collection. I list here (with their numbers in the archives) those papers which are relevant for this comment: 1. His seminar paper on Kant (HR-044–03–36). 2. His Staatsexamensarbeit (HR-018–09–01). 3. ‘Das Raumproblem in der neueren Quantenmechanik’ (HR-039–11–27). 4. ‘Zur Störung des Objekts durch die Beobachtung in der Quantenmechanik’ (HR-039–11–10). 5. A letter of O. Neurath to H. Reichenbach with the date 7/22/29 (HR 014–12–04).
