Abstract

Soil bacteria of genus Azospirillum live in association with the roots zones of grasses and others plants, among which are the economical important culture plants corn, wheat, barley, rye, oat, and rice. There are several reports indicating that Azospirillum can stimulate the growth of the host plant by nitrogen fixation and production of plant growth regulators as indoleacetic acid (IAA).
