Abstract
The theory of Brownian motion is covered in many monographs and textbooks (Chandrasekhar, 1947; Stratonovich, 1961, 1986; Gikhman, Skorokhod, 1972, 1974; Rytov, 1976; Gardiner, 1986; Risken, 1983; Van Campen, 1983; Klimontovich, iii, iv). We are not going to give a consistent presentation of this theory. We shall only touch upon those topics which are pertinent for the program, set forth in the Introduction and Sect.1.1. Some of these questions have only been discussed in original works and have not yet found their way into monographs and reviews.
