Abstract
In western Nebraska, declines in soil populations of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) fungi with continued wheat production in wheat-fallow rotations were observed. The significance of these declines was difficult to evaluate since the effect of VAM on grain yields under field conditions was unknown. This project was initiated to determine the effect of VAM fungi on the yield of winter wheat.
