Abstract

To understand the relationship between the fate of populations and seral vegetation changes, many methodological conditions must be satisfied. Population growth must, in such cases, be followed for many years, i.e., from the initial phase to the phase of a dynamics-equilibrium and/or a complete, or at least partial retreat of species. The fulfillment of methodological conditions is possible when a particular species colonizes new areas, or returns to an area previously abandoned, or considerably alters its abundance due to the effect of an agency, e.g. cessation of man’s management in meadows and farmlands (Figure 1.2).
