Abstract
The characteristics and operation dynamics of the new series Aciplex-F recently developed by Asahi Chemical, as observed in their stable performance in extensive operation worldwide, are described together with the development status of the most recent grade in the series, the F-5000 membranes for heightened membrane performance, and that of membranes for direct production of 50% caustic soda. Also reported are new findings on the influence of brine impurities on ion exchange membrane performance.
