Abstract

This paper focuses on the combined impact on populations of four etiologically significant, widely prevalent, modifiable major risk factors for the cardiovascular diseases (CVD): “rich” diet, diet-related above-optimal serum total cholesterol (TC) and blood pressure (BP), and cigarette smoking (CIG), contemporary mass “...disturbances of human culture” (Virchow) (1) producing epidemic CVD.
