Abstract

Nd doped LiNbO3 combines the high gain properties of Nd3+ with the electro-optic, acousto-optic and non-linear properties of LiNbO3. In a waveguide configuration this could yield to efficient diode pumped monolithic self Q-swtiched, mode-locked and frequency doubled lasers devices. In this talk we discuss the recent progres obtained with this respect as well as possible future devices.
