Abstract
The diagram of such an energy conversion system between two electrical systems S1 and S2, suitable for the supply or absorption of electrical energy, is shown in its general form in Fig. 6.1. The converters CS1 and CS2 control the energy flow between the systems S1 and S2 on the one hand, and the intermediate AC stage Si on the other hand. Depending on the nature of systems S1 and S2, which may be DC sources or single or polyphase AC sources, the static converters CS1 and CS2 can be DC/AC inverters or AC/AC converters.
