Abstract
Protozoans are unicellular parasites. Several protozoans, e.g. Giardia lamblia. Trichomonas vaginalis, Blastocystis hominis and Cryptosporidium spp., are present in the lumens of hollow organs without invasion of tissues. Only a few of the numerous protozoan species are pathogenic for man
