Abstract

This chapter provides a summary of the experimental tasks required of the subjects, and the experimental items in the tests (see appendix A). A description of the subjects is provided. Then I discuss the development of the test instruments including such issues as their validity and reliability. Finally the influence of certain variables such as Ll, order of item presentation, L2 proficiency, and vocabulary knowledge on performance are considered
