Abstract
The other members of this panel are far more knowledgable than I about galaxy evolution and the nature of the faint galaxy population. Thus, rather than address the main panel discussion topics head-on, I will instead briefly summarize some of the things we may be able to learn about the universe at high redshift from the study of two classes of objects that I know something about: AGNs at high redshift and starburst galaxies at low redshift. I will organize my remarks around several of the questions the panel has been asked to address.
