Abstract

Biochemical changes were studied under three different concentrations of Na2CO3 and NaHCO3. Proline and sugar showed positive correlation with increased salinity. NaHCO3 was found to be more effective than Na2CO3 at all concentrations. Protein and starch decreased markedly with increasing salt concentration and the significant decline commenced at 30 mmhos/cm.
