Abstract
The previous chapters (Chapters 1 to 4) discussed the various methods of measuring the cardiac output invasively and noninvasively. Some of the methods are geometrically dependent, others are not. The geometrically independent methods are preferred because in diseased states, assumptions made on a prolate ellipse may not be valid.
