Abstract
Since 1979, in the Department of Ophthalmology, Medical University of Debrecen, scleral support operations on progressive myopic patients have been performed. Since then, 398 myopic patients have been examined with ultrasound, 149 males and 249 females. The number of eyes examined was 647: 525 high (>8.0 D), 112 moderate (4.0–8.0 D) and 10 low degree (<4.0 D) myopics. Most of them were young, between ten and twelve years (Fig. 1).
