Abstract

The Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say), is an American insect that belongs to the family Chrysomelidae (Coleoptera). The species has been described by Say (1824). The rapid dispersal of the species from Central America throughout the USA to Canada as well as from France through western Europe to China has been reviewed by Jolivet (1991).
