Abstract
In this chapter consideration is given to situations where the amount of use is recorded for resource units, rather than just whether they are used or not. Three principal cases are recognized: (a) where the amount of use is a count (such as the number of animals present); (b) where the amount of use is measured (such as the biomass eaten); and (c) where the distribution of the amount of use is a mixture of zeros for unused units and a distribution of positive values for used units.
