Abstract
It is now four years since the U.K. electricity industry was restructured to introduce competition in both generation and supply. All the companies in the industry—with the exception of the two nuclear companies, Nuclear Electric and Scottish Nuclear—were transferred to private ownership, and a new regulatory framework was introduced.
