Alterations of plant metabolism by ozone exposure

  • Chapter
Plant Responses to the Gaseous Environment

Abstract

The air pollutant, ozone, is spread over the face of the globe and its level is increasing with industrial activity. We have had some success in limiting its further increase in specific regions, but its concentration continues to rise in other urban settings especially in developing countries. Ozone exposure of plants is a problem which will not disappear in the near future.
