Abstract
The principle of the methods of particle size analysis based on classification is to simultaneously or successively divide a quantity M A of the analysed material into n + 1 part quantities M i for n ⩾ 1 different particle sizes x i (Fig. 2.1). The size range between x i-1 and x i is called (particle size) class; the included quantity of particles which is referred to the total feed quantity p i is called the fraction.
