Abstract

In 1979, approximately 543 cubic meters (410 curies) of LLRW was generated in Texas. By 1990, these figures changed to 261 cubic meters and 1,600 curies (Table 26). In 1990, 15 percent of the waste produced came from governmental and military organizations, 23 percent was generated by nuclear power plants, and 62 percent came from institutional and industrial sources (DOE, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984/a, 1985, 1986/a, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991).
