Photofragmentation Dynamics of Van Der Waals Complexes

Chapter
Part of the Topics in Molecular Organization and Engineering book series (MOOE, volume 12)

Abstract

The quantum theory of intramolecular dynamics in van der Waals molecules excited with a single infrared or visible photon, is presented. Vibrational, rotational, and electronic predissociation processes are described. Several quantum approximations, as well a quasiclassical trajectory technique, are discussed.
