Abstract

Linear instability modes of the three dimensional compressible (subsonic) boundary layer over a swept wing are investigated asymptotically for case close to neutral boundary branches. The scaling and structure of both inviscid and wall modes with long time scale are determined. For inviscid modes, solutions in both inviscid zone and viscous layer are determined. For wall modes, triple-deck technique is used to determine the solutions. Different scalings for density and temperature are possible leading to different modes.
