Reliability of structural ceramics

Abstract

In this study the influence of R-curve effects on reliability are investigated assuming natural flaws as being peripherally cracked spherical voids. Various experimental literature as well as own results are presented, including Al2O3, Si3N4, ZrO2 and Al reinforced Al2O3.
