Methods of Model Based Process Control

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 293))

Abstract

This paper intends to give an introduction into fuzzy control, to discuss its motivation, merits, and limitations, and to present an approach to fuzzy control which makes use of available information about the system’s dynamics and provides a more systematic design procedure. The control of pH in a neutralization reactor is used as an illustrative example
