Abstract

Two patients with Vogt—Koyanagi—Harada (VKH) syndrome whohad bullous retinal detachment were examined with standardized echography.Diffuse choroidal thickening underlying the detached retina was observedin both cases. In one case, choroidal detachment was found underthe inferior bullous retinal detachment. Resolution of the retinal detachmentand choroidal thickening were noted by high dose systemic corticosteroidtherapy. Standardized echography was useful to detect the choroidal conditionin the acute phase of VKH syndrome and also to monitor the responseto therapy.
