Abstract
In the previous chapters I have discussed many different modes in dusty plasmas, but always keeping the dust charges fixed. The need has now come to look at the specific effects induced because dust charges are not really independent of the variations in the plasma potentials. Hence comes, even in fluid theory, the first of the crucial differences between ordinary multispecies and dusty plasmas. All the modes we have encountered in the two previous chapters will influence the charging mechanism, and the resulting self-consistent feedback will lead to interesting and sometimes totally unexpected changes. These are totally outside what is covered in standard plasma physics textbooks and monographs.
