Lur’e (1964, section 2.10) obtained the 3-D solution for the elastic equilibrium of a cone loaded by a force applied at its apex. The solution of the general 3-D problem for of a circular cone involves the integral expansion of vector functions in terms of the complete system of vector harmonics on the cone surface with help of a Mellin integral transformation and a Fourier series (Ulitko (1979)). The solution of the static thermoelasticity problem was obtained for a transversally-isotropic cone in Podil’chuk (1992).
