Abstract
This symptom means ‘difficulty in swallowing’. It is derived from Greek ‘dys’, meaning ‘bad’ or ‘difficult’ and ‘phagein’, meaning ‘to eat’. Patients with dysphagia are encountered in all branches of medicine.
