Abstract
The capacity to induce new vessels from the host is one of the few properties that may be common to most, if not all, solid neoplasms. If, in fact, tumours can modify or reorganize their local environment to their own advantage, then the capacity for angiogenesis may be a pre-requisite for a ‘successful’ tumour.
